The bey
Leon Crest 7-60GN is the sixth model in Beyblade X's Unique Line (UX) system, released in Japan as a Booster on August 10, 2024 for around 1400 yen. In the anime it belongs to Titus Manju, and it suits the part he plays: a right-spin Defense type built like a shield. Takara Tomy calls it Leon Crest; Hasbro sells the same bey in the West as Crest Leon 7-60GN.
Out of the box it weighs roughly 44.1 grams, and a good share of that sits toward the rim. Like every Unique Line model, Leon Crest swaps the usual metal launcher hooks for resin ones. It sounds like a downgrade, but the idea is outward weight distribution — more mass pushed to the edges, which helps stamina and handling.
Stock build
- Blade - Leon Crest: a thick, near-circular Defense blade wrapped in an oversized plastic frame.
- Ratchet - 7-60: seven protrusions at 6.0mm height, one of the heaviest low-height ratchets in the game.
- Bit - Gear Needle: a needle tip with elongated gear teeth; kept upright, it behaves like a standard needle.
The gimmick is the "Defensive Wall." The 7-60's protrusions line up with the blade's large plastic frame, creating a second ring of contact points that can deflect hits coming from almost any angle.
How it plays
Pure and simple: hold the center and take the hit. The stock combo struggles against many other stock beys — the Gear Needle bit leaves it unstable, and the wide blade can scrape and lose stamina if you launch poorly. Expect a learning curve straight out of the box.
The real story is the parts. The 7-60 ratchet is a genuine top-tier competitive piece, thick and heavy enough to shrug off attackers, and a staple in official Beyblade X tournaments. Plenty of players buy this booster mainly to move 7-60 onto their favorite blade. As an item in itself, Leon Crest reads more like a battler's parts kit than a finished star.
Combos & variants
- Defense: keep 7-60 and swap Gear Needle for Hexa — the two have strong synergy.
- Stamina: Ball or Free Ball when you'd rather outlast attackers.
- Taller builds: Wall Ball or Disk Ball lift the bey and lean into the frame's deflection.
- Burst resistance: step up to the 9-60 ratchet in taller stamina setups.
The blade also appears as CX-05-04 Leon Crest 9-80 Kick from Random Booster Vol. 6, a Balance-type variant worth hunting for collectors.
Where to get one
In Japan, the UX-06 Booster is easy to find through Takara Tomy's usual retail channels and specialist import shops. In the West, Hasbro packages the same bey as Crest Leon 7-60GN in the Cowl Sphinx and Crest Leon Dual Pack (G1685). Expect to pay a little over the Japanese street price once shipping lands, and steer clear of counterfeits — buy from reputable sellers only.
