The bey
Dran Buster is the bey that opened Beyblade X's Unique Line, the second-generation system where launcher hooks are molded as separate plastic pieces. That lets more of the metal ride toward the outside of the blade — heavier, harder-hitting, and a clear step forward in how the line plays. As an Attack Type in the lineup's extended family tree (a successor of sorts to the launch-wave Dran Sword), it's an aggressive, right-spin attacker with a strong competitive pedigree. It's also the signature bey of protagonist Jaxon Cross, making it one of the most recognizable faces of the whole series.

- Blade: a heavy Unique Line attack blade with most of its weight pushed outward, giving it real smash on contact and a more aggressive feel than early-wave attackers.
- Ratchet (1-60): just a single protrusion at a low 6.0 mm height — the defining oddball of the Unique Line. One wide contact point means fewer places for an opponent to grab, which keeps bursting down, at the cost of fewer listing surfaces.
- Bit A (Accel): a high-speed flat attack bit tuned for rapid acceleration into the Xtreme Line, feeding those full-commitment X-Dashes.
How it plays
Dran Buster is built to press. Its outward weight and Accel bit get it moving fast, and its heavy blade delivers satisfying knock-out hits when it connects. The 1-60 ratchet is the conversation piece: with only one protrusion there's less for opponents to torque against, which helps Dran Buster resist bursts through the chaos of a hard clash. The trade-off is the classic attack-bey deal — it spends stamina quickly and lives on early aggression, so it wants big hits early rather than a long, patient duel.
Combos & variants
The 1-60 ratchet is the headline new part, and its single-protrusion design started a real debate in the community about burst resistance versus versatility — plenty of players experiment with swapping in 3-60 or 4-60 for more conventional setups. The Accel bit slots into other aggressive decks, and the heavy Dran Buster blade holds up well in attack builds regardless of which ratchet it rides. As the Unique Line grew, Dran Buster stayed a go-to answer for players who wanted a heavy, dependable attacker.
Where to get one
Launched as the UX-01 Starter in Japan on March 30, 2024 for ¥1980, bundled with a launcher. It crossed over to Western markets through Hasbro as Buster Dran 1-60A in a Starter Pack. As the very first Unique Line bey, it's easy to find and a natural entry point into the second generation of Beyblade X.
