Hasbro's next Custom Line wave has shown up early. The batch often referred to as the western CX Wave 3 leaked across Amazon and Target, complete with official product images, and it does something this card roster is usually bad at: it gives the West a genuinely wanted blade first, at a sensible price.
Fang Leon crosses the Pacific
The headliner is Fang Leon T 4-60U. Anyone who followed CX from the Japanese side knows the story: the Fang Main Blade and Leon Lock Chip arrived in Japan last November as a prize bundled with physical copies of the Beyblade X: EVOBATTLE Switch game. To run it, you had to buy a video game and hunt down the code. Western players who wanted it had to import.
Hasbro is now putting the pair in a plain $14.99 Starter Pack. Different bit and different colours than the Japanese release, but the parts are the ones people actually wanted. There's a subtle type shift under the box too: the Japanese LeonFang T4-60A ran the Accel bit and played as an Attack type, while the Hasbro Fang Leon T 4-60U swaps in a Unite bit, making the stock build a Balance type instead. Fang itself is still built from four downward-pointing jagged blades whose whole job is to shave away an opponent's Stamina with repeated hits — a barrage attacker, not a one-shot KO machine, and one that leans on careful combo building to shine. Getting it in Western hands for the price of a normal Starter is the best news in this wave.
The retool habit on display
The same list shows Hasbro's other signature move: taking an existing blade, renaming it, and shipping it as a Western exclusive. Stun Medusa 9-60GB is right-spin Stamina type and honestly a decent budget pick, but the interesting part is where it came from. It is a repurposing of Shinobi Shadow, unofficially, with the plastic parts identical and the metal component reshaped. Same mould family, new name, new coat of paint, and nobody pretends otherwise.
That habit is worth keeping in mind whenever a "new" Hasbro blade appears. Some debuts are genuinely fresh. Some are familiar parts dressed up.
The wave as a map of Japan's head start
Look at the full list and you notice a pattern: almost every name here is a blade Japan had months ago. Reaper Rhino, Flame Cerberus, Feather and Rudder Phoenix, Shelter Drake and Scale Shark, Team Yggdrasil's trio. Hasbro's job in any given wave is catching the West up, and this roster reads like a time-lapse of what Japanese players were already running.
Two sets deserve a shout. The X-Treme Battlers Pack imports the CX-11 Emperor Might Deck Set contents into the West, bundling Emperor Might with green coat Golem Rock and Shark Gill. And the Team Yggdrasil Team Pack, an Amazon exclusive at $29.99, packs Sting Unicorn, Cowl Sphinx, and Rudder Phoenix in a metal coat red. If you have been waiting on the CX side of the roster, this wave closes a chunk of the gap.
Worth a close look once listings go live. The prices sting a little after the tariff-era increases, but the parts are finally the ones the community kept asking for.
